What Is Epitalon?
Epitalon (also spelled Epithalon) is a synthetic tetrapeptide (Ala-Glu-Asp-Gly) based on the natural peptide epithalamin, which is produced by the pineal gland. It was developed by Russian scientist Professor Vladimir Khavinson, who spent over 35 years studying peptide bioregulators and their effects on aging.
Epitalon's primary claim to fame is its ability to activate telomerase — the enzyme responsible for maintaining and extending telomeres, the protective caps at the ends of chromosomes. Telomere shortening is one of the most well-established biomarkers of cellular aging, and restoring telomerase activity has been a holy grail of longevity research.
